Project Linus 2012

 

Project Linus is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, hadmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers." For the second year in a row, Elite Soccer Youth leaders collected donations, purchased fleece, and made over 150 blankets for Project Linus. www.projectlinus.com

AH Fire Department and Youth Leader Food Drive 2011


 
A total of 88 baskets were collected on Nov. 6, at the Arlington Heights Fire Academy. Additional bags with food and toiletries, along with $1,000 worth of grocery store gift cards, were also collected. Parent volunteers delivered all the items to the Wheeling Township Food Pantry, 1616 N. Arlington Heights Road, on Nov. 7.  
 

Relay for Life 2011


                           
The American Cancer Society-Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At 2011 Relay, Youth Leaders camped out 24 hours at Christian Liberty Academy and took turns walking or running around the track. Youth Leaders raised over $6,500 for cancer research!

At 2010 Relay, Youth Leaders camped out 24 hours at Prospect High School and took turns walking or running around the track. Youth Leaders raised over $7,500 for cancer research!

Rosie's Toy Chest 2010



 
Rosie Colucci is an amazing 5 year old girl who has Neurofibromatosis (NF1). Rosie came up with a great project idea to make the holidays a little easier for her friends in the hospital. The annual project is called “Rosie’s Toy Chest”where Rosie collects toys for her friends at Children’s Memorial Hospital and other local hospitals. This year the Elite Soccer Aces Youth Leaders were able to raise over 500 different kinds of toys such as dolls, stuffed animals, arts and crafts, board games, and many other great toys. (read more...)



Share Your Soles-Shoe Drive 2009

              
On August 11, fourteen Elite Soccer Youth Leaders compiled, sorted, cleaned and packed 1,350 pairs of shoes to be given to the Share Your Soles organization. After 4 hours of hard work, the Youth Leaders and program directors Stein Garcia and Kevin Love packed up a hefty U-Haul truck and drove down to Alsip, IL, the Share Your Soles processing center and warehouse. (read more...)
